Every great story starts with humble beginnings, and we’re no exception.

Our story begins in 1973, when Mr. Lim Beng Huan and Madam Loh Lay Choo founded the company in Georgetown, Penang.

What started as a small home-based cottage industry quickly began to grow as we invested in advanced manufacturing technologies and expanded our product range to meet the diverse needs of our clients. In 1985, we celebrated the construction of our first integrated manufacturing plant in Bayan Lepas, Penang. A year later, we expanded our reach to Southeast Asia (SEA) and Australia.

From then on, the foundations were laid as opportunities knocked on our doorsteps one after another. We seized those moments and dedicated ourselves to quality and innovation.

Some of the Emico journey key milestones include:

• 1988 - Appointed as the first turnkey contract manufacturer for Mattel in the SEA region, which led to Madam Loh being honoured with the "Iron Lady" award.
• 1990 - Constructed the first automated vacuum metalising factory in SEA.
• 1994 - Listed on Bursa Malaysia (formerly known as the Kuala Lumpur Stock Exchange).
• 1998 - Became the official merchandise provider for the XVI Commonwealth Games.
• 2002 - Established a production plant in Vietnam.
• 2021 - Set up office in Thailand, and featured in The Penang Power 100.
• 2023 - Exported our products to over 50 countries.
• 2024 - Listed in The Malaysia Book of Records as the "Largest Trophy Manufacturer".

What Does the Trophy Manufacturing Process Look Like as a Whole?

A brief overview of the trophy manufacturing process look like this:

• Design Phase: We work closely with distributors around the world to come up with the best designs to cater to local markets, and make it happen with our experience and expertise. This includes working with 2D, 3D, and prototypes.
• Moulding: Once the design is finalised, the mould will be fabricated. This process ensures precision and consistency in every piece, forming the foundation for a high-quality product.
• Production: We produce the necessary trophy parts and components, then distribute them globally. For the local market, we also manage supply, assembly, and distribution, ensuring a seamless production process from start to finish. Furthermore, we conduct continuous research and develop new technologies and systems to improve the efficiency and quality of production.
• Finishing: The trophy is then metalised or chromed, colour-sprayed or painted to enhance its appearance. We provide value-added finishing options such as sublimation printing, UV DTF, UV direct printing, colour printing, laser engraving, and more.
• Quality Control: As an ISO 9001-certified company, we have a comprehensive quality system to ensure products meet industry standards and customer satisfaction. Additionally, our certifications in ISO 14001:2015 for environmental management and ISO 45001:2018 for occupational health and safety demonstrate our commitment to sustainability and workplace safety.
